Prepare a timeline of the highlight and lowlights in your organization’s history. Explore the common themes that presented great opportunities or existential challenges. Discern similarities and examine how your organization pivoted or stayed the course.

Now, imagine this discussion in five years, what opportunities and challenges would you like to have addressed and how did you address the threats?

Finally, identify the common themes and use them as your strategic touchstone in future discussions.
